Team GoggleSquad is made up exceptional instructors with oodles of experience. They all follow gold standard Swim England Learn To Swim Framework, but that’s just part of the story. There’s no ‘going through the motions’ at GoggleSquad. Learners need to be engaged, so our amazing instructors give oodles of feedback, guidance, encouragement and praise to boost their motivation, confidence and skills. 

  • Nicola Ayers, Founder, GoggleSquad Swimming School

    Nicola Ayers

    GoggleSquad founder Nic is an ASA Level 2 instructor and has taught swimming for 16 years. Having competed for England and GB in synchronised swimming as a youth, she set up GoggleSquad in 2020. Nicola teaches at Walton-on-Thames, Claygate and Cobham Feltonfleet.

  • Adam Messeder, Instructor, GoggleSquad Swimming School

    Adam Messeder

    Adam has been a Level 2 swimming instructor for over 16 years and is qualified to Assistant Club Coach level. Alongside swim teaching, Adam works as a firefighter for West Sussex Fire and Rescue and has been in the fire service for 14 years.

  • Sophie Cowan, Instructor, GoggleSquad Swimming School

    Sophie Cowan

    Sophie has been a Level 2 swimming instructor for more than 14 years and teaches children and adults at our Notre Dame School pool in Cobham. Sophie is also a qualified water fitness instructor and has her national rescue award for swimming teachers and coaches.

  • Suzan Laverick, Instructor, GoggleSquad Swimming School

    Suzan Laverick

    Suzan has over 10 years’ experience teaching children to swim and joined GoggleSquad after a decade at Water Babies, the swim school dedicated to baby swimming, where she was a senior teacher. Suzan teaches at Walton-on-Thames, Claygate and Cobham Feltonfleet.

  • Taya Harvey, Instructor, GoggleSquad Swimming School

    Taya Harvey

    Taya's love of swimming started as a junior member of the respected Kingston Royals swim club. Little did she know that this early start would lay the foundation for a career dedicated to swimming. Taya teaches at Cobham Notre Dame and Feltonfleet Schools.

  • Sarah Warren-Smith

    Sarah Warren-Smith is a Level 2 swimming instructor and preschool teacher with many years’ teaching experience. She’s also a British Gymnastics high performance coach and teaches children at our East Molesey venue.

  • Alex Armstrong

    Alex is a seasoned Level 2 swimming instructor with eight years’ experience teaching learners of all ages. He is also an accomplished competitive swimmer who has made a significant mark in the world of swimming.

  • Rachel Weaver

    A Level 2 instructor with 17 years’ teaching experience, Rachel has taught a diverse range of learners, from newborns and toddlers to youngsters progressing through the advanced stages of the Swim England Framework.

  • Tanya Van Straaten Swimming Instructor

    Tanya Van Straaten

    Tanya is a Level 2 swimming instructor with specialist qualifications for teaching parent and child classes. She has been teaching swimming for more than eight years and mainly instructs babies and toddlers at our Claygate venue.

  • Alison Walsh

    Alison is an experienced Level 2 swimming coach with many years’ experience helping children and adults hone their swimming skills. Alison qualified for the Team GB Triathlon squad in 2022.

  • Juliette Piesley

    Juliette brings years of experience to GoggleSquad, having taught children and adults of all ages and abilities as well as coaching athletes. As a youngster, she competed for Staines Swimming Club and currently swims for the respected Teddington Masters.

  • Mark Kennealy

    Experienced Level 2 swimming instructor and Swim England coach, Mark Kennealy teaches children and adults as well as being an experienced open water swimmer in the UK’s lakes and seas.

  • Emma Easton

    Primary school teacher and Level 2 instructor Emma has been teaching and coaching swimmers of all ages for many years. A former competitive swimmer and keen open water specialist, she trains and competes with the respected Teddington Masters Swimming Club.

    Monique Green

    Level 2 instructor Monique has spent most of her career in education, having been both a primary and secondary school teacher. Her calm, friendly and empathetic teaching style means she always gets the best from learners of all ages and abilities.

  • Sheree Hargreaves

    Level 2 instructor and former competitive swimmer Sheree has taught children and adults how to swim for more than 30 years. She has vast experience teaching learners with special educational needs and is also a certified Aquafit instructor.

    Former competitive swimmer Sophie is an experienced Level 2 instructor who teachers earners of all ages, from toddlers to teens. She coaches triathletes and holds the ASA Autism Swim teaching qualification, helping her effectively teach and support learners with additional needs.
