We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Swimming Instructor/Swimming Manager to lead our swim teaching provision at a new venue in Cobham, Surrey.

The role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional swimming lessons to students of all ages and abilities as well as supervising swimming lessons provided by other instructors.
We are looking for a leader both in and out of the pool. The role would suit an experienced swimming teacher who loves to teach and would enjoy the extra responsibility of managing a team and taking ownership for the delivery of lessons to the standard we’re becoming well known for.
Hours available from week commencing 5th June 2023: Tuesday 5pm - 6.30pm; Saturday 9am - 1pm.
Hours available from September 2023: Tuesday 5pm - 6.30pm; Friday 4pm - 6pm; Saturday 9am - 1pm; Sunday 9am - 1pm.
Responsibilities:
● Deliver high-quality swimming lessons to learners in line with the Swim England framework.
● Ensure the welfare of all learners by maintaining a safe and secure swimming environment.
● Develop lesson plans as required to cater to the needs of every learner.
● Monitor and evaluate learner progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
● Provide constructive feedback to learners and parents to help them improve their swimming skills.
● Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed of their child’s progress.
● Maintain accurate records of learner attendance and progress.
● Oversee swimming lessons on weekends (Saturday and Sunday mornings), after school and during school holidays (Summer, half terms, Easter), ensuring that all teachers are delivering high-quality lessons and following safety guidelines and procedures.
● Collaborate with teachers and staff members to ensure that the swimming programme is consistent and effective.
● Ensure that the swimming pool area and equipment is clean and organised after lessons.
Qualifications, experience and skills:
● Certification in CPR and First Aid
● ASA Level 2 qualification or equivalent
● Enhanced DBS checked
● Lifeguard or water safety qualification
● Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching swimming lessons
● Experience overseeing swimming lessons/swimming programmes is preferred
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to work effectively with learners of all ages and abilities
